Exports

Rendering artifacts to PNG, SVG, JSON, CSV, and MP4 through asynchronous jobs.

Exports turn an artifact revision into durable files. All exports run as asynchronous jobs on dedicated workers — heavy rendering never blocks the editor or the API.

Formats by artifact kind

KindFormatsNotes
ChartPNG, SVG, JSON, CSVJSON/CSV carry the snapshot data; SVG is rendered server-side and deterministic
MotionPNG frames, MP4Frame renders are exact previews of the final video

Fresh or displayed capture

Chart exports can render from fresh data (a new capture at export time) or from the displayed capture you are looking at. The output manifest records which was used, along with the spec revision and data version — every output is auditable to its inputs.

Job lifecycle

Queued — the job is accepted and waiting for a capable worker.
Running — a worker claimed the job and holds a heartbeat lease.
Finalizing — outputs are being registered and manifests written.
Completed — outputs are available for authenticated download.

Failures move a job to failed (with a reason), interrupted (worker loss), or cancelled (you cancelled it). Never treat a queued or failed job as a completed export — wait for completed, then fetch the output manifest.

Outputs and provenance

Completed outputs are recorded on the artifact with their provenance (revision, capture, job) and become authenticated downloads. The manifest of an MP4 includes measured properties of the produced video. See artifacts for the output list on the artifact detail view.
